Uday is the quintessential entrepreneur with varied experience in banking and aviation. A true team builder, he co-founded the Veling Group in 2002, and successfully led Veling into various uncharted territories. This included aircraft leasing,  arranging JOLCO’s, and Sale & Leasebacks on its first A380 – in essence he was the engine that powered the Company. He brings his wealth of experience to Kayan which he intends to nurture along with his capable team. Uday is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and has an honorary doctorate from the University of Bolton for his contributions to philanthropy and aviation.

Anuj Kathuria
Group CEO

Anuj is an inventive dealmaker who understands the subtleties of aviation finance. His career has taken him to Jet Airways, Emirates, Deutsche Bank and the leasing company, Veling. At Veling he structured and closed the company’s first four A380 transactions within just 12 months. In a wide-ranging career, Anuj has financed over 100 aircraft deals and developed productive relationships with the world’s airlines, lessors, arrangers and financial institutions.

Nagarajan is an adept financier and financial controller with wide experience in fund-raising, investment structuring, tax planning, large-scale divestments, company restructuring and treasury functions. He is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Before he joined Kayan, Nagarajan was Executive Director – Banking & Treasury for the ETA Group.

Sebastian Moonjely
Group COO

Sebastian worked at Bank of India for over 24 years, getting to know both the UK and Indian finance markets. In the 12 years at Veling, Sebastian covered Structured Finance, has been the mainstay in closing numerous transactions at Veling, handling legal, finance and lease management aspects of transactions. Along the way, Sebastian developed Veling’s in-house JOLCO capabilities.

Anand Iyer
Head of Structured Finance

Anand is a Chartered Accountant and an award-winning deal-maker. A shipping transaction that he led was Marine Money’s ‘Structured Finance and Innovative Deal of the Year’. Before he joined Kayan, Anand was European Head of US Private Placements at Deutsche Bank. During his 11 years at Deutsche, he raised $10 bn for clients and led numerous structured finance and project finance transactions within the transportation and infrastructure sectors.
